Transaction: I was extremely nervous at first because I wasn’t familiar with anyone at Enthused Digital. The Gear Page had become much more successful than I had imagined and, after years of running it, I was ready to retire but wanted the site to continue forward under the supervision of my co-owner partner and to remain basically with the same philosophy. That was accomplished without any difficulty. The real question would be in the details. I remained a bit skeptical but as our attorney worked with Enthused Digital on the final contract to sell, I was pleasantly surprised that no significant hiccups occurred. The sale went through exactly as the contract stated and all payments were made on time. The sale happened several years ago and the website remains healthy and without any real difference between when we owned it and under the banner of Enthused Digital.
Competitive Initial Offer: As a very large forum, I was aware that the website had a significant value. The initial offer was literally within 5% of what we had estimated.
Continued Work: Although I don’t administer the site or moderate anymore, I remain aware of how the site is doing and have talked to my partner, who stated that he was given full control of the day-to-day handling of the site. Many people don’t appear to have noticed any change because I keep getting messages from people that think that I still run things. I’d say that this is a sign of a seamless ownership transfer. My partner continues to work with Enthused Digital.
Website Health: Thegearpage.net is as active today as it was several years ago when it was sold. There was no big turnover of forum members and the site is healthy!
